Paul W. Hazen, Partner

Producer's Representative & Film Acquisitions Consultant

A veteran to the industry, Paul W. Hazen has served as a Producer’s Rep and Acquisitions Consultant for the past 15 years. He has been involved in the acquisition, negotiation, and placement of over 180 independent feature films and television properties with domestic distributors, foreign sales agents, and territorial buyers.

He has also served as an Executive Producer on numerous films such as Patrick Hoelck’s “MERCY” starring Scott Caan, Erika Christensen, Dylan McDermott, and James Caan, and “ELSEWHERE” starring Oscar Nominee/Twilight star Anna Kendrick and CW’s Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley. A sample of other titles he has been involved with include David Arquette’s THE TRIPPER, Jeff Garlin’s I WANT SOMEONE TO EAT CHEESE WITH, and Penelope Spheeris’ THE KID & I.

Most recently as Head of Acquisitions and Operations for MarVista Entertainment, Paul W. Hazen was responsible for acquiring new film and television properties for MarVista’s expanding library. He worked closely with MarVista's development/production arm which produced both film and series in the television marketplace for companies such as SyFy, Lifetime, Hallmark, ABC Family, Showtime, Starz Encore, and Disney Channel.

His prior experience includes Senior Vice President of Acquisitions & Sales positions with Pierce Law Group LLP and Tulchin Entertainment. He holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication – Radio, Television, & Film from CSUN, a Bachelor’s Degree in English Lit/Writing from UC-San Diego, and an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts from Ohlone College.

Mr. Hazen attends all of the major markets and festivals including AFM, MIPTV, MIPCOM, EFM, NATPE, Toronto, Cannes, Sundance, Slamdance, Banff World Television Festival, and Strategic Partners. He has lectured extensively at film schools such as Emerson College, American Film Institute (AFI), Cal State Northridge, and Seattle University on numerous production and distribution topics. He has also organized panels and been a feature speaker at several major film festivals such as the AFI Film Festival, Hollywood Film Festival, Slamdance, CineVegas, MethodFest, and Banff World Television Festival.

Scott Bridges, Partner

Acquisitions, Development & Production

A twenty-five year veteran of the entertainment industry, Mr. Bridges has been successful in and out of the spotlight. With his extensive work as a producer, he has unique skills to consult with Producers and Companies from a Global Market point of view.  As a managing partner of Handshake Partners, he uses this experience in Development, Pre-Production, Post Production, Distribution, Delivery, and beyond.  While filmmakers must focus on making a good product, Mr. Bridges provides the expertise to ensure the film is not just good but also fits securely in the marketplace for long-term success.

With years of experience producing, Mr. Bridges’ feature film Producer credits include “Lost & Found” with Cary Elwes and Jason Patric, “iCrime” starring Sara Fletcher from Comedy Central’s hit show “Secret Girlfriend”, and “Lake Effects” starring Jane Seymour, Jeff Fahey, Scottie Thompson, Casper Van Dien and Sean Patrick Flannery.

He also helped to create and develop Silverwood Films, a Los Angeles based Production Company behind such notable films as "Half Nelson" starring Ryan Gosling, "Stephanie Daley" starring Tilda Swinton, Amber Tamblin, and Timothy Hutton, and "The Passage" starring Stephen Dorff.

Mr. Bridges also served as Associate Producer on the film “Dirty Little Trick” with Americana Films starring Dean Cain, Christie Burson, and Michael Madsen and through his shared production shingle, Sure Crossing Films, he served as Production Manager on the theatrically released faith based feature film “Doonby” starring John Schneider, Ernie Hudson, and Robert Davi.



Heather Biggle

Delivery & Distribution Coordinator

Heather Biggle is responsible for coordinating with international sales agents, distributors and network programming departments to ensure timely delivery of materials as well as assisting Handshake Partners in determining appropriate content to license from filmmakers for Handshake Partner's ever growing slate of represented titles. Heather is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
